With rising costs of solid waste management and its emergence as a significant issue in the Asia-Pacific region, the need to promote sustainable waste management has become ever more critical. Responding to this challenge and other environmental challenges faced by both the public and private sectors in the region, Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS) and National Environment Agency, Singapore (NEA) are launching WasteMET Asia 2012, scheduled to be held from 1 to 4 July 2012.
